Places to Eat in Elizabethtown:
T.J. Rockwells is a hands down favorite among Charter homeowners and our friends on social media. Chat them up on Twitter @tjrockwells – or take advantage of their Foursquare specials when you visit. As T.J. Rockwells sagely told us, “Free food = happy Etown residents and visitors”.
The Black Gryphon comes highly recommended from our friends on Twitter. The Black Gryphon aims to “feature the best in local produce for each season”. The Yuengling-infused Rarebit is highlighted as an “excellent choice” by our Twitter friend Meg. Our Twitter friends also recommend the infused cocktails on their bar menu!
Gale recommends Folklore Coffee on Main Street as “a fantastic coffee shop with … outstanding coffees, lunches, and baked goods”.
Elizabethtown Events and Attractions:
Elizabethtown College offers plenty of events – from live theatre to art showcases and much more. Check at their 2011-2012 Academic Year Theatre Season here. Give them a shout on Twitter at @EtownCollege, too!
Is it a restaurant? A venue? An attraction? We’re not sure, but Conewago Coffee offers coffee, live music, and even a “paint your own pottery” studio! Just think of them as Elizabethtown’s community arts center – and check out “Friday nights at the ‘Wago!”
The annual Elizabethtown Fair promises even more fun in its 38th year, with a Chicken BBQ, livestock judging, live music, a Fair Queen competition, rides, and much more!
Immerse yourself in the history of Elizabethtown at the Winters Heritage House Museum – stop by for a visit or enjoy one of their many classes and events, from Children’s Bead-Weaving Classes to Plant Sales to their Anniversary Quilt show!
The Elizabethtown Library is a favorite of Cathy S., who loves their “huge selection of DVDs (no rental fees with a library card!) and . . . nice coffee shop too”. Don’t miss their annual book sale in October!
GEARS (Greater Elizabethtown Area Recreation & Community Services) offers a wealth of classes, recreational opportunities and events – from aquatics to summer programs to babysitting certification classes. Check out this page for more details.
