With its rolling hills, plentiful trees and picturesque farms, Lancaster, Pennsylvania enjoys some of the country’s most beautiful fall scenery. As Halloween comes close, Lancaster County also offers an extensive list of Halloween activities and events that guarantee a “spooktacular” fall!

Outdoor Halloween Activities in Lancaster County:

Cherry Crest Adventure Farm – Ronks, PA

Features a 5-acre corn maze (the world’s largest interactive game!). Open Tuesday through Saturday through November 5. Special October-only events include:

  • Harvest Fest
    Saturdays Only – October 2 – 30
    Festival Hours – 12:00 – 6:00 pm
    Farm Hours – 10:00 am – 10:00 pm
  • Flashlight Maze
    Go through the Maze in darkness with only a flashlight. Bring your friends.
    Friday and Saturday Nights October 7 – November 5

Strasburg Railroad Murder Mystery Dinner Train

Historic and charming Strasburg (home of our Heritage Strasburg 55+ neighborhood) is the perfect setting for a night of trains, a murder mystery, and dinner – who could ask for more? The October 29 train is already sold out, but tickets are still available for October 15 and dates in early November.

Lancaster Ghost Tour

Spooky candlelight walking tours of one of America’s oldest cities, featuring “haunting tales of otherworldly vigils, fatal curses and star-crossed lovers. Experience 300 years of haunted history from the Red Rose City’s thorny past!”A Lancaster Ghost Tour departs each night at 8:00 p.m. (including Halloween!) from the Soldiers & Sailors Monument at Penn Square, at the intersection of King & Queen Streets in Lancaster. Dutch Wonderland Happy Hauntings

Each weekend in October beginning 10/15, Dutch Wonderland offers “hauntingly friendly fun ideal for families at Happy Hauntings. A Kingdom For Kids! will feature themed rides and attractions, trick-or-treating, magic shows, ghoulish games, storytelling by The Princess and Knight of Dutch Wonderland and so much more!

Halloween and Fall Parades in Lancaster County:

Millersville Community Parade

On Saturday, October 29 starting at 9:00 a.m., Millersville, PA will host a Wild Wild West themed parade! 15 bands, floats, twirlers, antique cars, Millersville University groups, marchers, civic groups, fire engines, the Lone Ranger, Native American Indian Dancers and so much more. Howl-o-ween Pet Costume Contest & Parade in Mount Joy

On Saturday, October 15, Mount Joy (home of our Florin Hill neighborhood) goes to the dogs (and cats!) with a Pet Costume Contest and Parade in War Memorial Park off Marietta Ave. Participants dress theirr pet (& themselves!) in their most creative costumes and join in for a parade, along with fun-family activities, refreshments, awards, pet-related organizations, businesses, rescues & more, For additional information, visit Main Street Mount Joy.

Lititz Lions Halloween Parade

This annual parade takes place on October 24 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Downtown Lititz. The parade (which also collects food for the needy!) begins at Cedar and Main Streets and proceeds west on Main Street to Broad Street, then south on Broad Street to Lemon Street, east on Lemon Street to Cedar Street and then south on Cedar Street ending on east Main Street where the parade originated. Ephrata Jack Frost Parade

Hosted by the Ephrata VFW, the Jack Frost Parade takes place on October 26 from 6:45 pm-8pm on South State Street.

Strasburg Borough Annual Halloween Parade

Historic Strasburg offers even more fun! The annual Halloween Parade begins at the Jaycee Park on 218B Miller Street, and ends at Shenk Avenue on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 7:00 pm. If you need even more Halloween fun, don’t miss the Strasburg Trick or Treat festivities on Monday, October 31, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm.

Trick or Treat Night in Lancaster County

Wondering when to take your kids out to Trick or Treat in Lancaster? This year’s Trick or Treat night is on Monday, October 31, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. All 60 municipalities in Lancaster County will observe Trick or Treat Night on this evening – making for a Lancaster County Halloween extravaganza!
