Ikat, Fretwork, Lattice, Chevron, Herringbone – We are talking endless design options for your home! Whether the pattern be a bold print on a dominating area rug, or the subtle weave on a non-committal throw pillow, it all comes down to how bold you want your statement to be.

But even when mixing the boldest of patterns the key to keeping it far from chaotic  is choosing a non-color scheme, which you’ll find at our new model home store at Arcona in Mechanicsburg.  Arcona_Study2According to Veronica Search, Charter Homes & Neighborhoods’ award-winning design expert, “It’s all about playing with tonality within a very neutral palette and mixing patterns and textures.”

Search says not to be afraid when blending different patterns.  “You’ll notice the neutral tone on tone stripes in the study are second to the commanding artwork.  That doesn’t stop us from throwing  yet another stripe into the mix with a smart button back wing chair.”

Arcona_RugSearch also points out that the great room is grounded by a confident patterned area rug while the rest of the room is left to the power of contrast. “Neutral upholstery is able to breathe against the espresso accent tables and black and white photography.  Still, we are able to have some fun with the Ikat and Chevron sequined throw pillows, and my favorite Greek key patterned accent chair.”Arcona_Kitchen

The classic white-on-white kitchen is the ideal backdrop to the sublime entertaining space while the breakfast area takes center stage with bold charcoal Ikat chairs and a large drum shade pendant.

If you are loving these ideas, come see them in person.  Visit the home store today and see how you can create these beautiful spaces.
